Ive decided to make beef olives, my son is dairy free so just looking for a nice recipe! Ones I've found has prunes but I have none! Can I subsitute with something! Hubby doesn't like raisins lol so please don't suggest them :)

Pine nuts are pretty good in beef olives, to add a bit of texture.

ask your local butcher , they will sell you some or if you a good customer they may give it to you free. Love beef olives since a wee kid, yum

Make them German style - spread with mustard, add onion, bacon & gherkin, roll up & brown on all sides in a frypan then simmer in stock until tender.
I do mine in the oven but here's a recipe and instructions for cooking them on the stove top.

A very small handful - about 5-6 per beef olive.Even for Turkey stuffing I only buy 100g and still have enough left over to last a few months, in the freezer.
