From my Sunbeam Crock-Pot Instruction Book.
BEEF STROGANOFF 1 Kg chuckorround steak, cut into thin strips (I usually use blade steak) 2 tbsp each offlourandoil 2 garlic cloves, crushed 200g mushrooms, sliced ¼ tsp pepper 1 cup beef stockorconsommé 3 tbsp tomato paste 250g sour cream
Toss the meat in the flour. Heat the oil in a fry pan and brown the meat, then transfer the meat to the Crock-Pot.To the meat add the remaining ingredients, except the sour cream.Cover and cook on Auto/Low for 6-8 hours. In the last 30 minutes of cooking stir through the sour cream. Serve with hot buttered noodles. Serves 4-6.:-))

Beef Stroganoff was originally made very quickly in a frying pan; the crock pot and oven versions make a different dish.
Here's a link to a recipe for a quick version.Use button mushrooms if you can't find wild mushrooms.
