You are so right. Also, it's early days in the competition but I do hope the "cup cake" girl can show some diversity!

duckmoon, Jun 29, 7:02am
I agree. But it was the professional chef who did the deconstruction . It showed me the skill of planning around time and resources. Like tonight, putting up a declines but difficult hot dessert cf with pre- prepped cold desserts

trader_spence, Jun 29, 2:36pm
I thought cup cake girl was very rude when asked to be as quick as she could with the specified desserts for the table which had been waiting 45 minutes and she said "They will get what they are given" I know she was under pressure but gosh!

esther-anne, Jun 29, 3:50pm
Yes indeed-I mentioned that somewhere else on the thread.IMO he sacrificed producing something good himself for her sake - and that's selfless (and impressive) to me!

carlosjackal, Jun 29, 7:21pm
Wow! I missed hearing that! What an attitude.!

maggie197, Jun 29, 7:34pm
I like him too, and I think what endeared him to me was his silent patience as his time was ticking down in that first challenge while that woman hunted for her fish - and then won a masterchef apron. He just seems to get on with the job with no dramatics.

strebor1, Jun 29, 10:07pm
Yes definitely!

strebor1, Jun 29, 10:42pm
I have to reiterate how much further they all are already, and most better cooks, that our winners! It is just so much superior, I mean running a restaurant when they have only been on the show a few weeks.Having had a restaurant, I know what it takes to run one, AND produce decent food, and quite frankly I just couldn't see any of our 3 doing just that.

strebor1, Jul 1, 7:10pm
Can't wait to snuggle up in front of the fire and watch it tonight!

bedazzledjewels, Jul 1, 7:17pm
And I see that Top Chef is starting in the afternoons on 3, although it's a repeat, I think. And there's Celebrity Masterchef too as well as Junior Masterchef. Great!
They've just had Heston on Masterchef but they seem to be about 5 weeks ahead of us.

taurus2005, Jul 1, 7:20pm
Filipo the Italian is my favourite, hope he wins, he's so humble.

duckmoon, Jul 1, 7:38pm
dont give us another spoilers. thanks jewels.

bedazzledjewels, Jul 1, 7:46pm
Spoilers! No way! Just really looking forward to Heston cooking.

trader_spence, Jul 1, 7:47pm
Too early for me to have a favourite but I do like Amina. Filipo is a bit intense for me but it's early days yet.

bedazzledjewels, Jul 1, 7:55pm
We haven't seen much of Amina lately have we. I wonder if Emma will cry this time! In the end she did well last time.

huia991, Jul 1, 7:59pm
And a new season (for us in NZ) of Top Chef on Prime on Sunday evenings

huia991, Jul 1, 8:00pm
Sorry Top Chef is on 4 on Sunday evenings

bedazzledjewels, Jul 1, 8:05pm
And also starting tomorrow on TV3 at 3pm - a repeated series I think.

miri_s, Jul 1, 9:03pm
It seems to be Season 1 (which I have never seen) starting tomorrow on TV3.Thanks for mentioning it's on bedazzledjewels - I love that programme.

Have been enjoying topchef texas over on 4, although last nightwas a bit of a fizzer in the cooking dep.Still, it was amusing to see Tom Colicchio get a bit hot tempered over all those mediocre dishes- he's usually so mild mannered.

bedazzledjewels, Jul 1, 9:25pm
I keep missing that Texas one. The food must be interesting!
Just watching Celebrity now and I've never seen ravioli so badly cooked. These four are going to be fun!

duckmoon, Jul 1, 9:31pm
I am not suggesting that you will do a spoiler, but just reminding all that have access to the Australian viewing schedule that kiwis are weeks behind

trader_spence, Jul 1, 10:08pm
She did yes, I thought she pulled it all together surprisingly well in the end. Looking forward to tonight.

kiwigal007, Jul 2, 12:07am
OOo what an episode so far! WHY did he choose that! Going to be interesting :)

Oh and she was crying again! Seriously does that girl not cry! lol

trader_spence, Jul 2, 12:25am
When I saw what he'd chosen I thought, "Oooo he's clever, he must know what that one is!"

rainrain1, Jul 2, 12:26am
The pasta dish waiter just now.he gets my vote for the best dish tonight
