rainrain1, Jul 2, 5:46am
go kevin

rainrain1, Jul 2, 5:56am
kev lost.awwwwww knickers to the judges

trader_spence, Jul 2, 6:00am
Kevin was very gracious in defeat and it appears my Mum might have been right after all, looks aren't everything ;)

Edit: Meant to say, us only seeing the show week nights is really messing with the schedules, clearly the Australians had their Master Class on a Saturday evening but because we are only seeing it on week days the Master Class is pushed back one day further each week - last week we saw it on Monday night, it's going to be Tuesday (tomorrow) this week and next week it will be on Wednesday. Bit of a mess isn't it!!

My sister in law Phillippa of www.phillippas.com.au is doing her bread making masterclass on MC tomorrow night. Fig & walnut bread. She's a sweetie. We've seen it already, and it's worth watching. I could be biased though :)

baccini, Jul 2, 6:27am
I do wish she could "pull herself together"! Doesn't seem to have the strength of character necessary for this (or any!) competition.

bedazzledjewels, Jul 2, 6:30am
I don't eat bread, but that fig and walnut one looked damn good!
When I was in Oz a month ago they screened a catch up session on Sundays where they rescreened all the week's episodes and masterclass. It was heavenly!

OOh , I am going to do that ravioli in the next few days. Have got some special visitors coming in a couple of weeks and want to practise it first. I always make my own pasta, but have never tried a raw egg in it, should be fun.

baccini, Jul 2, 6:41am
Oooooh I'm looking forward to seeing that.roll on tomorrow's masterchef!

Hi everyone. I'm enjoying the shows too. fire going, hot cuppa and a break before sorting dinner. life's good :-)

Hi T-S :-)

bedazzledjewels, Jul 3, 1:07am
It's a great afternoon to watch cooking shows on tv. It's so dark and threatening up here. Time to light the fire soon.
Junior Masterchef is getting exciting too and it'll be interesting to see the 3 boys cook off.

trader_spence, Jul 3, 4:37am
Hi Julie :)

It's not a time I'd usually have the TV on but I'm quite enjoying the wee break before dinner too, that said, I confess I'm not as keen on the Master Classes as I am the elimination rounds.

I enjoy watching the Australian Master Chef better than the NZ one. Gary and George explain the cooking better than the NZers.

bedazzledjewels, Jul 3, 5:52am
That cheesecake looks beautiful.

duckmoon, Jul 3, 6:19am
Yum, yum, triple YUM

elliehen, Jul 3, 6:25am
Just caught the crusty fig walnut bread coming out of the oven.

ibcreative, Jul 3, 6:34am
Same. I always feel a bit disappointed when it's a master class rather than a competition episode. Having said that, the fig & walnut loaf made tonight looked divine!

trader_spence, Jul 3, 7:30am
I didn't see it in the end, I'm not a fan of sea food and I don't eat bread or cheesecake either so there wasn't much in it for me!

strebor1, Jul 3, 7:58am
Yes I have to admit, I wasn't glued to it tonight, but have to say to Gazza, he has a very nice, talented Sister in law. I could smell the bread in my lounge, and as I have some new walnuts off the tree, might try it this weekend.

esther-anne, Jul 3, 8:01am
I must admit-when it's a Masterclass I mentally switch off and instead of putting our meal preparation on hold I get into the kitchen and do what I have to do for our own meal.

My pleasure with the programme definitely hinges on the competitive aspect!

baccini, Jul 3, 8:39am
That Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake looked divine! And actually quite similar to a Lemon Ricotta Tart that I make, I would love to know the ratio of flour, almond meal, butter and sugar for the base of the cheescake - anyone here have any idea!

marcs, Jul 3, 11:51am
They are also doing Masterchef All Stars.

love love love the programme and we watch it religiously every nite taped.emma is getting on my nerves with all that crying. we starting to get quite attached to the different contestants. judges are doing a great job. its all very entertaining and we sit and drool every nite over the yum dishes.
