What was also interesting abut the judges' interaction with Deb and Ben was that there was no mention of the fact that Deb's interpretation ofthe meatballs ("suppli")was so wrong. She went on an on about "suppli" meaning a hidden treasure, therefore she made a filling with chopped figs.Suppli actually refers to a mozzarella filling, which stretches out like a telephone wire when the meatball is broken. The judges would have known this, it is not exactly obscure.Maybe in the editing it was decied that Deb had had a hard time so was given some prominence without criticism.Of course nobody expects Ben to know anything about anything other than Mexican food.

You are so right davidt4!

dilligaf_dah, Sep 2, 4:27am

strebor1, Sep 2, 5:06am
Oh really!

frances1266, Sep 2, 9:20am
Oh well we wont have to watch it anymore, dalligaf-dah you are a blabbermouth.

dilligaf_dah, Sep 2, 9:47am

duckmoon, Sep 2, 10:47am
Thanks for the spoiler.
NOT

carlosjackal, Sep 2, 11:15am
Why did you have to enter this thread to spoil part of the programme for those of us who are avid Masterchef viewers! What a selfish and inconsiderate person you are.

carlosjackal, Sep 2, 11:22am
.and if you want to post anything else that may spoil it for myself and others who frequent this thread then perhaps you should start your own thread, and while you are at it, add the word "spoiler" to your thread title.

nauru, Sep 2, 12:15pm
I agree, like many others I'm sure, I have purposely avoided all info on the programme so has not to know who goes when. At least she didn't say who the winner was so we can be thankful for that.

carlosjackal, Sep 2, 12:39pm
Well, not YET she hasn't.hoping she doesn't.

esther-anne, Sep 2, 11:07pm
Very very irritating! d_dah!

Regarding showing the contestants who go home back to their families - isn't it possible that some are very private people and simply don't welcome that exposure!I'm sure a similar thing happened with someone else who went home in this series but my mind won't recall who, I just noticed at the time and thought it unusual.

bedazzledjewels, Sep 2, 11:18pm
I think she's wrong. As I already know the result, I checked through and I can't see anywhere that Jules comes back.
So please don't spoil it for others.
I'm really enjoying these episodes in Italy.

lodgelocum, Sep 2, 11:22pm
Just like in General, when some nasty person spoilt MKR and announced the winner in the Thread heading. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

jaygee1962, Sep 3, 1:03am
Oh yeah, I'd forgotten that in the past they've given previous contestants the chance to come back in.Will have to watch and see what happens.

I'm enjoying the Italy episodes too.My husband has been to Italy twice on business in the last two years, I think if he goes again I'm going to have to tag along. He says I would love the food and wine, I think I would too! :)

OMG.could Wade cut the Basil leaves off their stalks and cut the tomatoes in half any slower!! It was "painful" just watching him. Really impressed with Julia's attitude today - although she's not my 'favourite' contestant she really did help Wade out with her sauce as she genuinely felt sorry for him cos his pizza dough wasn't working out. That was a huge challenge really, especially given the time frame to complete pizza and pasta in a relatively small kitchen. I reckon they all did pretty well.

duckmoon, Sep 3, 7:25am
but the prep is as important as getting the food out. Amateur cooks needs to learn to look forward. Like Georges question, why didn't you put the water on at the beginning of prep. and they also need to learn to work faster. Individually doing the basil leaves S L O W L Y was just painful to watch

carlosjackal, Sep 3, 10:59am
I know.you're absolutely right. Wade just didn't seem himself and looked like he was moving in slow motion! .the effects of the "night before"!!- maybe they'd all had a few drinks the night before and he was feeling a bit worse for wear!Meson Plus (food prep.) is paramount in producing fine cuisine.

lyndyhopper, Sep 3, 11:06am
Yes he was painful to watch.I would love to taste alices 4 cheese pizza

jaygee1962, Sep 3, 7:50pm
Geeze what a challenge that was! Wade needed a boot up his butt, who cuts basic leaves one by one! - even I don't do that! :)
I watched it late last night and I was hungry by the time it was finished, Alice's pizza made my mouth water.

jano8, Sep 3, 7:53pm
i always try to watch these food shows now while i'm eating dinner.as they seem to always end up making me so hungry.

davidt4, Sep 3, 9:09pm
It's Mise en Place .

carlosjackal, Sep 3, 9:28pm
Whatever! I don't work in a commercial kitchen so never use that term - you obviously knew what I meant then, though.

jerrytravis, Sep 3, 10:45pm
Hello MC people. does anyone on here knows the name of that Roman offal dish that was served up a few episodes ago! the hearts, lungs and kidney combo. i made a delicious lambs fry breakfast on Sunday, now i want to take my offal cooking skills to a higher level. thanks

davidt4, Sep 4, 12:06am
Coratella (heart, lung and oesophagus of lamb or kid, sautéed with artichokes)
