grilled mushrooms with garlic butter and caesar salad sounds good to me, with a glass of wine, even better ;-) Pasta is too heavy alongside steak imo.

Caramelised or fried onions, big field mushrooms fried in a little butter with salt & pepper, long green beans, corn (if you can still get it), and mashed potatoes.Or you can add my cauliflower speciality - cook cauli till soft, drain, grate your favourite cheese over cauli, and microwave until melted - yum yum!

I am in love with the onion jam recipe in the "Four ingredients" book.So quick and easy to make and goes really well with steak.
3 large red onions 3 Tablespoons balsamic vinegar 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 Tablespoons olive oil (or regular oil)
Slice onions into thin strips.Add onion to a pre heated pot with oil and cook until completely collapsed.Add vinegar and sugar and stir in well; turn pot down to a low heat.Leave on low until a jam like consistency, stirring occassionaly.
Delicious!
