Totally agree. but wonder if Anas little reaction wasnt edited as well!

delihank, May 29, 10:25pm
Go Ana -i hope she wins, where in the rules did it say -you are not allowed to trade, they used their heads .i think those 2 girls did a great swap.

elliehen, May 29, 11:19pm
They have always been told that anything they did not remember to get from the pantry they would have to do without.and many have made good recoveries from their forgetting.

beaker59, May 29, 11:20pm
Exactly, I was shouting at the telly, she should have said and which rules say I can't swap, it happens all the time in these competitions.

They are all worthy so anyone could have gone home yesterday I actually think overall standard is a tad low this year with no one really standing out.

pedulla, May 29, 11:26pm
exactly what i reckon they cant do in the masterchef kitchen so it should stand for everywhere

Yes The Ladies should have been Disqualifed & sent home & Left Brenton & Tony to Cook off between each other. The Ladies Broke The Rules.

jenjen76, May 30, 1:59am
NZ Herald website has interview with Brenton. It says he starts his apprenticeship on the 12th June.will that be the day of the last episode of masterchef!

coast_palms, May 30, 2:26am
Perhaps the day after!

winnie231, May 30, 2:29am
Yes - 2 episodes to go.

ferrit47, May 30, 3:00am
Hi There Beaker How are you & L.!Hope you both well.Life goes along as normal here in Rotorua. Its B. here. If ever down here feel free to look us above. Will send u our new address via facebook. Moved 2 yrs ago.

willyow, May 30, 3:28am
Put yourself in Tony's shoes - other competitors gaining an advantage bybasically cheating -with $100K at stake what would you do! Would you dob them in!Would you break the rules( cheat) to win! Is it better to lose without being a snitch ( remembering thatcould cost you $100K). Of course he was right to dob them in - it was very unfair on him and Brenton. The producers probably didn't mind - it added a bit of drama to the show.

lulu239, May 30, 3:43am
I'm curious as to how they paid for their goods at the market. as we often see them handing over money. Ana just took that squid when she was not given assistance. At the time I thought she must have been dobbed in by the camerman.

jubre, May 30, 3:45am
Do you not remember the final of last years masterchef. We might have thought that Jax was the better cook, but all of her biscuits fell off the large tower that they had to make and Nardia's stayed on.

beaker59, May 30, 3:46am
We are all good up here, I'll keep that in mind next time I am down that way. Cheers Buddy.

coast_palms, May 30, 4:43am
I have to disagree. Jax is a home cook and always will be. She doesn't have the flair, temperament or cool head to be a chef.
So she will always be relegated to presenting Countdown commercials with Brent (who will also never make it to the commercial kitchen & be a chef).
Brenton, on the other hand, has the goods to make it. Good on him for not hesitating at the chance to learn to become a cheffy.

imn, May 30, 4:57am
hmm I wondered why the lady didnt serve her! bit wierd. AND I expected the two females to be eliminated. Thats what should of happened!Under the circumstances and so much $$ at stake, baldy (sorry cant remember his name) was right to say something. very unfair of the two women. AND that Ana denied til confronted. tut tut.

charlieb2, May 30, 5:51am
Ana has stated on her FAcebook page that she DID infact pay for the squid and the lady serving was too shy of the cameras which is why she didnt come forward.Yet more careful editing for our screens, methinks!

tigerlilly16, May 30, 8:38am
Not so sure, Brenton did something similar last week, he didn't have ingredients for 4 salads so used his garnish herbs to make salads, they all raved on how innovative he was and that in a professional situation the same thing would be done, slightly different with the girls but surely the same reasoning could be applied to them, yet they got told off and Brenton got praised.

elliehen, May 30, 9:10am
I don't think that was similar at all.The whole competition would change completely if contestants were allowed to raid each other's pantries.

Swapping ingredients with a competitor for mutual benefit because you forgot to get them is light years away from making do in a creative way with what you're stuck with through forgetting.

toadfish, May 30, 9:48am
I saw him browsing at the Clevedon Farmers Market .not working.

duckmoon, May 30, 9:57am
I don't think that is the same

duckmoon, May 30, 9:58am
Sorry, I miss understood, hope he does well, strikes me as a nice human being

nfh1, May 30, 9:59am
It was the oddest episode - the girls were caught cheating, one of them even tried to deny it, the guy seemed to be 'set up' to report them and then the Brenton was sent home.

tigerlilly16, May 30, 1:30pm
The poster I was replying to said they thought if the guys had done a swap they would have been treated more harshly than the girls were. I was merely pointing out that I don't think so, based on Brentons treatment over that incident. I acknowlege the situations were different.
