How do you preserve your peaches

Mums way the peaches are squishy and seem over cooked.I would like to know how to preserve them so they stay firm.Any help greatly appreciated.

thats just how long they are cooked also I use 3 cups water to 1 cup of sugar and wait till just about to boil b4 putting in peaches etc

water bath. too lazy to type out the method. I used to bottle using the overflow method, over all the mess. This method is way easier.
