Has anyone cooked these, I had some at a Yum Cha recently and liked them, did cook these once before, very slowly with tomatoes but would be interested in anyone else's ideas.

Crockpot for hours

I ended up chopping it into pieces, browning in peanut oil then adding onion, garlic, carrot and fresh tomatoes, ginger and five spice and a cup of water, in a cast iron casserole. Was going to use the crockpot but cannot honestly say I have enjoyed anything cooked in there as much as slow cooked in the over, it all tastes a bit 'institutional' to me.

Dear me, I find the crockpot really useful, especially for Winter fodder
