Personally.if you made it from scratch and you know it went into the fridge soon as it cooled down enough, I would eat it. especially if you reheat to boiling point. being a stew you know it was well cooked to start with

I would eat it if it was comming out of my fridge. I cool my food down well , cover and put into the fridge. My fridge is running perfectly. I probably would look at bringing it to the boil, thicken, and make a cottage pie. This way it should all be eaten in one sitting.
If your fridge is not in good order, your meat was left in an aluminium pot uncovered, on the bench for 24 hours before being put in your dodgy fridge, I would bin it.

Personally,
If I had made it, and refridgerated it in a timely manner. I would use my eyes and my noses, and then make a decision.

four days isn't necessarily too long
