when are pickling onions in season? Im hanging out to make some but want to wait until they are cheap. While you are here, could you please post your tried and true awesome recipes? TIA

I have been enjoying my ones done in November. I must say I think a lack of sugar makes them sour. Taste the pickle juice before you seal them up. I started a debate about brine or sprinkling of salt a while back. I think a brine is better. Some pickling spice has quite a bit of chilli and you may not like that. New seasons onions may be available shortly I hope.
