I have no problem with the thread staying and do not see why it should be removed.
I don't feel the thread is offensive and am quite happy to stand behind everything I have said. I think it was good it was aired and people had the chance to say how they felt.

LOL indeed. . as it so happens they have both criticized recipes I have posted but do I get my nickers in a twist as these "newbie" posters who have come out of the woodwork have done on behalf of someone else. . go back and read post 24 again. .

Like nfh1, I have no problem with the thread staying, doubt that they'll be banned though mwood, but it's completely understandable that people who insult others (and their supporters) by suggesting someone is mentally ill, their medications need to be sorted, their recipes are "gruesome" and their postings are unintelligible, would want the thread voted. I expect it will go soon, but not before it has been viewed by many.

ha, only just discovered this thread... . goes to show how long its been since I ventured in here. Recipes has changed... . . I used to be a lurker for a long time, then started posting and for the most part it was fun. Nowadays too many food snobs posting their crap on here and I can't be bothered with most of it. I think the turning point for me was when someone said to me that they would never use compound chocolate in their recipes as their 18mth old could tell the difference between a good quality chocolate and a cheaper off the shelf product. Yeah righto! I've found somewhere nicer to play now. As you were... . .

Now that threads do not 'fall off' I think it is good that the bad as well as the good remain.
I am sure the thread will slip down the Boards when everyone has had enough of it!

I don't think your point was missed by anyone. :)But the feelings that have been aired on herehave obviously been brewing for some time, so why not just let it run its course until everyone runs out of steam. It'll all be forgotten soon. :)

If people have a problem with the thread then I don't understand why they just don't go else where. I have come across rude replies etc and patronizing posters and I don't see any reason why someone can't bring this issue up honestly and openly.

Absolutely not! Having raised a very serious subject, I've got nothing more to add, but obviously need to restate that I am drawing attention to childish bullying behaviour on an adult message board. 'Recipes' is becoming an unfriendly place for the mum and dad cooks to post in, because they are often likely to be ridiculed by just a few who certainly do have some expertise to pass on, but too often cannot seem to resist disparaging and insulting others. The best teachers teach in an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual respect... . that's all.

I usuall y enjoy the recipes & often copy them out. I also only look at ones I think I may be interested in, but haven't seen any snobby ones as yet, don't want to them anyway.

The authors of these comments needs to be looked at, not whom they are accusing as one can't have both sides and come out angels themselves... . LOL, there are some longtimers in all the topics in the TM MSB, but then there are a few whom go hopping from one to another, put in a farthing worth then move on to another topic, no loyalty, no real import in any topics, just go from one to another thinking one knows everything... ... just like a jack of all trades but no master to one, and now would stamp their feet just to get a message across and in reality... who are they, so far there are the obvious two possibly 3 whom are not regulars here (regulars I mean someone who assists, spends time, Give good argumentive reasons but not abusive, give great recipes, a good head on one's shoulders) whom at least notes anything from 20 to 200 postings per week in a topic only... . not over the whole TM MSB. They are the ones that if one was to look into their history by doing a search on those usernames and select anytime will come up with where they have been and what they have contributed to date... . . In recipes, there are a good number of real genuine posters, some still around, others been put of by certain newer users going ons and by those whom openly wish to profit for themselves money wise... ... It just keeps coming and going and the only way to stop these carry on's is to delete these threads... . . and I have voted for that on this. Cheers everyone.

I promised myself I wouldn't lower myself to replying to some to the more offensive posts in this thread (maysept for instance calling us self-important sanctimonious bitches) but I have one last word. To all those this thread is aimed at, just get out and stay out. If we don't respond this thread will go into pack page oblivion.
What I am quite amused about is rosewildvinyl, who complains bitterly about us being rude and dismissive of new posters then goes and does the same in the Woolworths thread.
One more thing, if maysept uses such hateful language once again, I will have no trouble pointing it out to TM and asking to have her banned permanently for abusive language.
