I already have a great coffee machine but was wondering where you would buy the coffee pods for these machines. Apparently they are very popular in Australia and therefore the range of pods is great but it's something to consider for here.

I love mine.

I had my first cup from one recently at a friend's house and liked the speed of service. However, I prefer to drink tea in its many forms and am far from being a coffee connoisseur, so couldn't comment on the quality.

I agree with you Ellie. I'm no coffee expert either but the speed and ease of use (and small amount of kitchen space it takes up) are plusses.
I'm lucky to have a specialist tea cafe up the road and they have free tastings every Sunday morning. They also are a book shop, specialising in crime and romance. A most interesting spot to hang out in.

Sounds great.books and tea.A resident cat would make it perfect!

If you're in Melbourne, my favourite teahouse is one in the T2 chain in Brunswick Street, Fitzroy. They have teapots arranged around the room and you can move about and pour yourself little tasters before moving on to the tea leaf display where you can sniff and study and choose to buy from "180 teas and counting."

I've been to T2 in Sydney but not the Melbourne one. I'll track it down when I'm there next. It's a really cool place.
The other wonderful bookshop we have here is on to its second resident cat. There is a sleeping nest for the cat in the window and the window displays are arranged around the cat. Once they had a display of cat books and it was great to see the real cat snuggled in among the cat books.

I had a nespresso pixie- my hubby bought it for me for mother's day last year- absolutely LOVE it! Thought there wasnt anything better- but, I was wrong! lol With the opening of thenew nespresso coffee place up in Auckland, we went for a drive to check it out, and buy up on the pods. Soooo I entered a competition there to win a delonghi Latissima plus- and I won! I LOVE the new machine- big time. The coffee's are great- and I dont think $1 for the pods (average) is a bad price- the coffees are perfect every time. Got to love them with a smidge of sugar syrup in them, it's an awesome way to start the day! The service is great too- I stuffed something up when descaling the machine, so it had to go back for a service- and they sent out a replacement machine while mine was in the shop, then it actually only took 4 days to fix! Great all round- I'd buy another one- go for it! Oh- one complaint, no george in mine, so think I was ripped off! lol

Yeah that would be my worry too - if there was a way to use the lovely freshly roasted coffee that I drink then I might consider one

dreamers, Apr 27, 6:55am
Do you think the pods will get cheaper here as the machine becomes more popular.Friend in the UK pays 14 p per pod there delivered.

leebee35, Apr 27, 7:42am
I know that is where I first saw one of these - at Myers.I couldnt believe the number of people queuing up to sample.I thought they werte buying mens ties... all these coloured pods. lol.

I just wait and see if I get any more feedback....

I bought a very good quality (real) espresso machine a few weeks ago and there is no way I could drink poor coffee now. I had another nespresso last week and couldn't finish it.

That said, most of the coffee in local cafes is sub standard now too. Only a few still measure up to the quality of my machine ;)

We bought one when they came out.Great machines. Then I bought one for my work kitchen. The pods are ordered and normally arrive the next day.No mess, great frothy milk. And they taste good too.Heaps of flavors - strengths- and are easy to use.

Have has one for nearly 2 years. The pods/catridges are usually arrive with 2 days. There is now a NZ web site rather than an Aussie web site relaying orders to an Auckland warehouse.

Roughtly a $1.00 a pop sans milk & power:)

Agree that speed and ease are great. The same range of pods are available in NZ and Aus. The only NZ store at the moment is in Newmarket (Akld) - the cartons of pods (ten to a carton) are the same price in the store as online, though if you buy in person there is obviously no delivery charge. For packing reasons you have to buy in multiples of ten if you buy online; orders arrive within a couple of days. The pods vary in intensity/strength. Our machine also came with a milk frother.

I've sampled it a few times at a friends house. The coffee is okay if you only "like" coffee. If you really love coffee then its very low quality.

I love a good strong espresso, and have had the nespresso at a friends, didnt rave about it, thought my plunger made better.
What machine did you get norse-westie!

norse_westie, Apr 27, 8:33pm
A Cuadra. It not only makes superb coffee but it sits on my bench looking very sexy.

Number 1 coffee machine is in need of repair so Nespresso is on standby. Pods aren't cheap but lots of varieties to chose from. Got a letter and bumph in the post about a new variety coming out; no samples (1 or 2 would have been nice). They don't make a decent amount of coffee for me, hence use of no 1 machine:)
Thimbleful just doesn't 'do' it!
