Can you use coconut flour only in place of plain flour. On packet it says to mix it but with other flours but is that necessary

Coconut flour absorbs a lot of liquid and really does need mixing with other flours like rice and almond. I have used it but never totally on its own.

You will need to use recipes that have been specifically developed for coconut flour. It behaves very differently from wheat flour - it is much more absorbent, coarser, and has no gluten.
