Feeding christmas cake

Ive soaked the fruit in brandy and will bake the cake today, it's a recipe that requires regular "feeding", I'd prefer not to use anymore brandy, I'd read somewhere you can use orange juice as an alternative is that correct!

If you have brandy in the cake, you should not need to feed it.My tip for a moist cake is when the cake comes out of the oven, cover the top with foil then wrap in a big towel to get completely cold.I leave mine overnight. All the moisture goes back into the cake. Then wrap and store.
