the Hansells jam set mix. The jam hasnt set firm yet, and tastes very sweet. How long does it take to normally set. The packet is different from when King put it out. checked the info on the hansells web and watched the video. Is it possible to cut down on the sugar, would it still set. followed the instructions right. thanks.

Maybe not cooked enough . If not set yet try re boiling and add pectin. (although I thought that was in the jam setting mix.) Can you cook more fruit and add it to counteract the sweetness as well?

made 2 lots yesterday. one lot has set, the other lot still a bit runny. Wonder if in time it will set ?Never had problems before making peach jam using the set mix. As I used small baby food jars not particular happy to tip it all out and wash jars etc. Think will wait a few days and see what happens. Really puts you off making stuff when this happens.
