I have a lot of silverbeet at the moment and wonder if I can wash, chop and put in plastic begs into the freezer? do I have to blanch it first or anything like that?

I find it really convenient to chop up the silverbeet very finely and place in a Glad plastic bag and place in the freezer. In this way I can use it for savoury mince, casserole or stirfry and it is so lovely and very nutritious in flavour. It keeps in the freezer for a few months.
