I have been making relish for many years now, and now have 4 grandies. They all seem to like relish/pickles on crackers, but I noticed they spat out the bits of onion. Soooooo...now, just before thickening, I get out my stick blender, put into the pot, and gently work it, then thicken. result is a nice smooth relish, that the little ones just love. I think I get more jars as well. I still like a chunky pickle tho....the other hint is that it doesn't fall off the cracker when you take that first bite...most embarrassing if out enjoying a cuppa and crackers.......

Exactly !! Great idea #1 thanks for sharing love these tips on here. i Have a Grandee who hates vegtables but loves Nana's chicken noodle soup, in winterwhich is full of vegs hidden by the blender Ha Ha...
