i always baked them in the oven for about an hour till the out side was soft to touch ,i used a large roasting dish and when cooked cut in half and scraped out the insides .while cooking i made up a tomatoe sauce with all the veg i had in the fridge ,fryed onions grated carrot skinned tomatoes peppers hand full of green peas and a tin of tomatoes with one teaspoon of sugar a good grind of pepper and any mixed hurbs i had to hand .a case of taste and add what you think it needs .my kids loved it i some times did mince as well to go with it
