Can someone please tell me the temp for"slow oven ". I am going to make christmas cake and all it says is slow oven for 4 hours. I have not made this for ages and can't remember. Thanks.

Slow 120-150 For xmas cakes I remember my mother doing them on 140 with the tins well wrapped in news paper.

pumpkin13, the following is from my good 'old' trusty Edmond's book.....
120°C= Slow; suitable for pavlova 140°C= Slow 150°C= Slow - Moderate; suitable for rich fruit cakes
