Parchment paper versus ....

ordinary lunch paper. When cooking muffins I like to line the tin with
paper or silicone as muffins sometimes make an awful mess of the tin.Can ordinary lunch paper be used instead of baking paper?Would this paper withstand the heat?

yes-- but it is not non stick

It won't stick if you grease it first. My mother always did this in the pre-baking paper days.Personally I think baking paper is one of the great inventions of the 20th century but I am a lazy washer-up.

greasing it sounds good me - I want to use up some lunch wrap before I purchase more baking paper.I'm a lazy washer-up too and altho I have some silicone liners, they still have to be washed.

maybe prepare half the tray in lunchwrap and leave the other half unlined, but greased and see what the outcome is. I would spray inside the lunchwrap too tho before you put the muffin mixture inside.
