I live somewhere I can't find fresh yeast to buy :( so my recipe calls for 20g fresh what would I use for dried and making donuts not bread and do we have to deal with it differently when just subing it one for another...thanks people

you will need about 2tsp dried yeast and yes you do treat it slightly differently. From memory you cream fresh yeast with the sugar. Dried yeast you need luke warm water (1cup), sugar and a small amount of flour say 1Tbsp. put all into a 2 cup sized container and leave in a warm place until frothy about 20 mins. then add to rest of dry ingredients, add any other liquid at room temp. Dont have water too hot as will kill yeast.
