Anyone own ceramic knives?

Are they any good as most seem to advertise that they don't need sharpening? Need a new set and am useless at sharpening them so curious if anyone recommends these. thanks

They do need sharpening, however, they remain sharp for a very long time. You need a ceramic sharpener to sharpen them.

Thanks. Just how long do they stay sharp for? And would you recommend them? ? Not willing to put out big $$ is they last as long as the cheap ones. Thanks

a cook friend of mine got one, said it was great, until he dropped it and it smashed on the floor, he had it about a week

They have been around for years but have never really caught on. I have used them before but never owned them. The guy who owned the ones I used was obsessed with looking after them.
