call your local cake shops. i was going to do this for my daughters birthday. another option is get 2 large bowl like tins and bake cake then put one on top of the other and carve to the shape you like and decorate. there was a brilliant recipe in a magazine not long ago for a giant cup cake birthday cake i will see if i can find it

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Crafts/Cake-design/Moulds-tins/auct ion-297796863.htm I just bought one of these for my daughters birthday.
I have just bought one, jumbo cupcakes which is 25 times bigger than ordinary cupcakes, over 8 inches tall. It is non stick silicone. Just google"catch of the day", & approx. every week the jumbo cupcakes will be offered.

You could use a steamed pudding bowl as that has the shape of a cup cake:)

for some reason, the giant cupcake moulds do not appeal to me at all. I'm not sure why that is, I just can't see myself ever using them at all!

I got mine from Catch of the Day ... http://images. trademe.co.nz/photoserver/89/135438989_full. jp g Works well, I used a fairly light fluffy chocolate cake. This one has simple cocoa and icing sugar icing, and has choc mousse in the centre (you can't see that).
