if a recipe says use 3/4 c castor sugar how much normal sugar should i use? thanks heaps

I usually just use the same measure and it works perfectly well.

Use the same. You can whizz ordinary sugar to give you the smaller granules. I only ever use caster sugar in my baking as it dissolves far faster and i also use it in jam making because it dissolves quickly and gives a clearer jam.

I go by weight... because the granuals are smaller, there is less air - which means more sugar... going by Weight solves this problem
