Hi All, is it still permissible to take frozen Whitebait to Australia?.

I am sure it is. I now you can take crayfish. The customs website might have the details.

As long it is sealed properly, labelled officially, and is declared upon arrival.

I can report no issues with Aussie border control, in fact the customs guy had a sense of humour, asked whether it was filleted, cheers.

A friend took some nice smoked Warehou Fish Fillets into Australia and the guys were licking their chops LOL, yep they have a good sense of humour.

If you pack it in a container with dry ice it becomes a dangerous goods matter.
If you want to go this route, check with the airline the cost and regulations regarding transportation of it.

Dry ice cannot be loaded with animals or vegetables in the same hold; the pilot must know which hold it is in etc.

I just bought a polystyrene chilly bin, put the frozen Whitebait in double ziplock bags , taped the container closed and it was perfectly frozen 11 hours after packing.
