Raspberry butter cream - too sickly?

Hi. I've got a pink morning tea tomorrow to bake for. I thought about making a red velvet cake - it normally has a cream cheese frosting - but A: I don't have any cream cheese unless I go out, and B: I have some Fresh As freeze dried raspberry powder. I thought about maybe making it into some sort of frosting. Would that be too sickly? I've never used the raspberry powder before.

do you have a tried and true recipe for that? Not one I've made before.

The raspberry freeze dried powder is quite tart on it's own so you could make it less sweet by doing an Italian meringue buttercream
