picked up a packet of couscous ready to zap in the microwave, but I haven't got one, can I cook this in a saucepan with a bit of water and wondering how long to heat it up for

you can put couscous in a bowl, boil water in pot or hot water jug and then tip over couscous, then put gladwrap over bowl and leave for 8-10 minutes,
or from recipe 1 cup instant couscous 1-2 tablespoons butter or olive oil (optional) 1 cup water or chicken stock 1/2 teaspoon salt Instructions 1.in pot Bring Water and butter (optional) to Boil 2. Stir in the Couscous and salt - take pan off heat . Stir to evenly moisten the couscous. 3. Cover the pan and let it sit for 10 minutes. If the couscous hasn't absorbed the water or still tastes crunchy after this time, cover and let it sit for a few more minutes. 4. Gently break apart and fluff the cooked couscous with a fork before serving.
