make soup with split peas or lentils- and freeze for the winter.

so i just boil them up with the split peas, lentils and veges?

lilyfield, May 2, 7:00pm
split peas OR lentils, not both together- spoils the flavour. yes- add carrots onion celery(also the leaves) bayleaf couple of cloves onion. Boil all together till very tender. fish out the bones and skin. flake the remaining meat off and add to soup. If you want to have it smooth- put your stickblender in it. Taste for salt and pepper

My pork bones always get roasted up with some garlic salt sprinkled over the top. Family goes nuts. Usually have soup and bread with it. VERY good!
