Add milk alternately with sifted flour, b. p. and salt. Stir in chopped walnuts and prepared fruit. Bake 30 minutes at 190C/375F in a greased sponge roll tin. Ice with lemon butter icing when cold & cut into squares.
Not sure what year my cookbook is, but think it's around 87 (hey, maybe I am allowed to buy a new one again) :)

Thanks for the recipe. I have been missing this for a few years now! Not a health recipe but will be great for Christmas. Thanks heaps!

Wow,!! Thanks so much - I have been trying to track down this recipe for the last two years, with friend's and family when I finally replaced my beloved Edmond's 1976 issue with Walnut Pride recipe - My New Edmonds 2010 issue has so many favourite recipes no longer in there. I never thought to write them down and lost them.
I only thought to Google today - Thanks again to the Recipe provider and GOOGLE I love you
