Sliced some button mushrooms up for tea tonight, I normally pull the stem off, cut that up then do the tops after. Came to one top and it has white gills. A bit odd looking gills too, sort of not all the way down gills. But no grey or brown at all.
Threw the chopped lot out and started over with the rest. It was a regular pkt of Meadow mushrooms but rather suspicious.

I would have kept the lot (so they could test it) and contacted the National Poisons and Hazardous Chemical Information Centre Urgent Phone line.
You can ring them 24 hours a day seven days a week on 0800 POISON / 0800 764 766.
You are not coming across on the msg boards here as a pansy - so why did you not ring them and hopefully prevented others to be killed!
How would you feel if tomorrow there is a story about people eating mushrooms and being killed!
