Electric rice cookers

andrew499, Dec 13, 1:47pm
Hi all.
Just bought a cheap rice cooker from the supermarket, and wondering if anyone on here uses them for anything other than boiling rice. Also, how good are they for steaming veges as it has a steamer basket with it.Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers

one pot meals - add a flavour packet and some froz veges and some skinny-cut-up chicken, ready in a flash while you're having a shower!

I think Maggi make a range of "packets of stuff" you can use to make a meal in the rice cooker.basicaly the packet of stuff, rice, water & chicken etc.not the sort / quality of meal that would win "Master Chef" but still pretty quck & easy / tastee

I have a recipe from the Healthy Food Guide that I cook in mine - will see if I can find it for you.McCormicks used to do mixes - the thai green chicken curry was good - but I haven't seen them for a while.Maggi has them on their website but I've never seen them in the supermarket.
