Does anyone know how long it takes to defrost a ham in the fridge, please!Think it's maybe about 3kg.

It would takes ages I think, maybe two/three days!I left a large chicken in the fridge to defrost and it was still partly frozen after two days and that would have weighed about 2.4 kgs.Depends on your fridge as well.

Thanks, don't want to end up with a half frozen ham on Christmas day, could be tricky, altho I could put it on sticks and eat it like a popsicle.

Yes mine was 4 kgs and I did sit it out on the bench for a while but it took 2 and a bit days, are you cooking it for a bit once it has thawed!

If I have a frozen ham I always bake it at around 180 after it is thawed and then this will remove the moisture it seems to make when frozen.

Wasn't going to cook it after, but open to any suggestions.

Ahh, I see, that makes complete sense.

Yup, gotta put in the oven 160-180deg C for about an hour- hour and half, you'll be surprised with the amount of water that comes out - probably close to cup, can glase half way through if you want.
