I was planning on making savourt pinwheels for lunch but have by mistake taken short crust pastry out of the freezer. Will it be ok and if not what are my other lunch options.

Should be fine- I make pinwheels with either shortcrust of puff- shortcrust tends to be a bit more crumbly- which is how it's supposed to be- but as long as you have plenty of filling- though not so much that you can't roll them- then they will be fine
