haha it went the other way with me... the kumara's were still hard... dont know why... but we all enjoy the rest and will make it again... I did cheat and brown the chicken drumsticks first... just to make more appealing looking... and we gots lots of flavour from the sage and onion stuffing... was very nice...

Trying this out today-couldn't get smoked hickory salt so using bacon bones in bottom, vegs + chook on top-lots of herbs, looking forward to dinner

Want to try this recipe tomorrow. How big or small do you cut the vegetables? Also I don't have silver beet or watercress, is that going to make too much difference?

janny3, Jun 13, 11:12am
Do my veg same as usual serving size.No silverbeet or watercress? That's a pity, the watercress gives it the extra *something* even if you just have to buy one of those salad packs.Pop a cpl of large cabbage leaves over the watercress, then plaster on the stuffing on top for your edible 'earth' seal.

sounds great im guna try it to

btw the juice at the bottom of the crock pot from the hangi freeze it and keep it makes a wicked base for gravy.

I had a crack in my crock pot also. Saw a notice for the local recycling and got one for $2 on Saturday- they must be a similar size as mine was brown and this one is grey but fits perfectly.
