Here you are sue62, from an earlier thread.
"called 1 pot spiced apple cake 250grm butter3 to 4 apples thinly sliced 2cups sugar 2 eggs beaten 2 1/2 cups flour 1 tsp bp 2 tsp baking soda 3 tsp cinnamon 1 cup sultanas 1/2 cup walnuts op melt butter in large pot add apples sugar then eggs stir in bp baking soda and all the other ingred the batter will be quite runny put into baking tin bake until golden about 1 hr 20 min allow to cool before turning out dust with icing sugar

One-Pot Spiced Apple Cake. 26cm diameter cake tin - sides greased, base lined with baking paper Bake at 150°C.:-))

I like spiced apple cakes but have been put off trying out this one by the 2 cups of sugar to 2 & 1/2 cups of flour.If anyone makes it, I'd be interested to hear whether they find it is too sickly sweet.

Many thanks.I will give it a go this weekend but will cut back on the sugar I think, as I know the grandchildren will like it but we try to keep the sugar intake down in most things we bake.
