This one certainly works slimshady9 - it's thanks to TM's boatboy10.

SPRAY AND WIPE.
"It's amazing! I have used on all kitchen/bathroom surfaces, windows, mirrors, walls - it's fantastic. Can also use on clothes as stain remover."

1 litre water
200ml vinegar
40ml each of dish detergent and eucalyptus oil
2 dssp washing soda crystals

Mix together, put in a spray bottle and use, or add 60ml to a bucket water and use for floors. :-))

I haven't bought laundry powder for about 6 months.
I make it in 7 litre lots.

My spray and wipe doesn't have the washing soda in, I might try that one 245sam.

slimshady9, tea tree oil would be fine as it's an antibacterial.
the washing soda you can get in the washing powder aisle at the supermarket, or at bin inn.

Some do, some don't.

pheebs1, Oct 12, 9:20pm
half cup vinegar 2 tsp baking soda
into a old spray and wipe, watch out for the fizzz
when it stops fizzing so much fill to the top with water

i use this for all kitchen and bathroom surface
works a treat and costs cents
best of all because its food its safe for the littlies!

for shower spray and leave or 10 mins or so before wiping
and for a really grubby shower
sprinkle some extra soda on the floor then spraywith the mix and leave it to bubble away for a bit
works well!

when you get really stuck i use baking soda salt citric acid and a rinse aid of vinegar in the dish washer
and been known to use it in the washing machine also
cleans out the machines is great on whites
perfect when you run out of alternatives
though i havent been able to find large quantities of citric acid
to make it cheaper

i know some people add borax to the mix but i find i dont need it

Anyone have a recipe for a wood-furniture polish that smells nice!

Window cleaner.Rub on white vinegar using soft cloth to get rid of dirt. Then rub off with lightly scrunched newspaper. Bit of elbow grease required, but works as well as the commercially produced and expensive stuff.

I use this one but don't add as much eucalyptus. I've also used tea tree oil, lavender, rosemary and cedarwood, seperately, not all at once.

Our cleaner even gets me to make it for her to take home to use. :)

This one looks fab. You can buy washing soda from Binn Inn type place.
Neat white vinegar (buy in 2L bottles cheapest brand from supermarket) works really well on modern shower doors at dissolving soap scum.
I keep neat white vinegar on my kitchen bench and spray on work benches after feeding the dog or handling raw meat and meat juices have possibly dripped on them.

I can remember my very late Mother-in-law used a linseed oil based polish.I don't know the ingredients but I recall having to give it a good shake before applying it with a soft clothp.s. I googeled furniture polish. There are several there.home-made.
