Making chilli beef - what spices do you suggest?

I have a recipe to make cosy comfort chill, it has minced beef, tomatoes, pinto beans, kidney beans and veges. But it just says spices assorted. I am at a loss as to what spices to use, I would really appreciate some suggestions please.

Ground cumin, coriander, I like paprika and usually put a bit of smoked and unsmoked in. A little cinnamon, some recipes use a little chocolate, chilli. Also fresh coriander to serve.

Yes! I also use ground cumin, coriander paprika and smoked paprika in my chilli.I also add crushed garlic, two or three large cloves, 'cos we love garlic!I use cans of HOT chilli beans, no chocolate goes in for us, though I'm told it is good.I serve it with sour cream and grated cheese and corn chips.

I always add 1 tsp of cocoa powder - it really does enrich the sauce and gives it a smoothness you don't get otherwise. You'll be surprised at what a difference such a small amount makes.Homebrand is best because it's so dark.
