Check out the breadmaker disaster recipe - there's a 5 seed loaf in there from village.green that doesn't and I make a french-style bread in mine that is just 475g flour, 2 tsp yeast, 2 tsp sugar and 280 mls of water.

When i used to use a breadmaker I didn't bother with milk powder at all. I replaced a little of the water with a splosh of milk, or used just water. Bread came out fine.

a standard french white bread doesn't have milk powder. don't have the recipe on me tho.

The 750 gr one is the one I make each day - suits us just fine.

Does it matter about the type of bread maker! I have a sunbeam one.

No. This recipe has been used by my daughter in law in her sunbeam, friend has tried it in her Panasonic and I have posted it countless times on here for others. As long as your machine has a French setting or a setting that is similar in time (around 3 1/2 hrs) it should be fine.
