When is the final for this series!
Will definitely miss these contestants. I've been impressed with how supportive of each other they have been. They seem like great friends.

245sam, Sep 14, 4:25am
Today's episode = Episode 65, the Finale = Episode 70 so assuming that there is an episode each week night IMO the Finale would be next Friday, 21 September.:-))

davidt4, Sep 14, 5:39am
According to The Listener the final is on Saturday night.

rainrain1, Sep 14, 5:53am
I think I'll go and slice a chop off a live lamb and have it raw!Don't know how they can eat it with all that blood running out

245sam, Sep 14, 6:13am
According to the on-line programme ( http://nz.tv.yahoo.com/tv-guide/#!/1/0/4/16/ ) for the coming week Masterchef is on each night Monday-Thursday inclusive, so maybe there is something else filling the gap on Friday so that the final can be screened on Saturday when there is a greater chance of more being home to view it.:-))

davidt4, Sep 14, 6:23am
Yes, it's the Masterchef Aussie All Stars mentioned by Dazz earlier.

holly-rocks, Sep 14, 9:22am
Bye bye Alice :( She was such a sweetheart

strebor1, Sep 17, 5:02am
OMG It is finals week and we are being shown how to cook a steak! It is definitely Gary's show isn't it. That is pathetic,

bedazzledjewels, Sep 17, 5:23am
Those onions looked delicious!

maggie197, Sep 17, 6:36am
In the Masterclass tonight I thought Matt Preston pulled one out the bag with his soup (using a tin of Baked Beans) and his Cola Chicken Wings. I can't wait to give these a go.

strebor1, Sep 17, 6:59am
Yes I am going to do the soup just for a laugh!

frances1266, Sep 17, 9:34am
Matt Preston looks like a heart attack waiting to happen.Dont know why they cant do some healthy cooking.Healthy food can be delicious believe it or not.
Tonigh'ts episode was particularly bad, all meat,, cream, butter and sugar.

mizp, Sep 17, 12:31pm
I went into a diabetic coma just looking at those Cola Chicken Wings! LOL.

davidt4, Sep 17, 10:48pm
I thought Matt's food was dreadful. No wonder he's so fat.

It was a shame that Gary kept interrupting the butcher, who seem very personable and would have been really interesting if he'd been allowed to get a word in edgewise.Fabulous T-Bones!

bedazzledjewels, Sep 17, 11:02pm
it seemed a strange choice to cook using products when he frowns on any of the contestants using packaged pasta or custard for example. The frozen banana ice-cream was okay though!

lodgelocum, Sep 18, 6:48am
Another one bites the dust.Mindy was very lucky to survive, and Audra managed to pull it together in the end, it did look nice, loved the look of the raspberry sorbet. Will have to Mysky the final on Saturday night, rugby takes first place in our household!

sumstyle, Sep 18, 7:41am
I was glad Audra took the 2nd dessert, even though she knew Julia would prefer it - Julia is more likely to pick a dessert, whereas at least 3 others chose a dish that they said they wanted to do so that they could learn something new.I know it's a competition, but I admire their long term thinking.

strebor1, Sep 18, 9:39am
It was a shame Kylie went home, as I think she is a better cook than say Audra. However she got a great job offer, so it wasn't all a waste of time.

carlosjackal, Sep 18, 10:24am
Sad to see Kylee go - her dish required a lot of technique and had any one of the other contestants had to cook the dessert that she did, they too could have found themselves in Kylee's situation. I'm glad Julia was "forced" to cook something other than a dessert! They all did very well though, and at the end of the day.someone has to go home. Just thrilled that Kylee was offered a position in the Bennelong Restaurant. To be made an offer by the head chef of 25 years is really quite something. atleast the next best thing to winning the Masterchef title >>Go Kylee!

duckmoon, Sep 18, 10:58am
I wonder how many of these verbal offers turn into long-medium term employment!

bedazzledjewels, Sep 18, 6:39pm
Yes - I see that Kylie isn't still at Bennelong but is working with various pastry chefs!

donna23, Sep 18, 7:53pm
I think she was only offered a day of work experience

jaygee1962, Sep 18, 10:21pm
Yeah I thought it was an offer of a job but my husband said it sounded more like work experience too.
Tough day in the kitchen for all of them. I think Kylie was quite shocked when they said she was going home, must be hard to steel yourself for possibly going home but hoping to stay.

mizp, Sep 19, 12:39am
Yes I thought he'd offered her a job too, but it was work experience:

*How has life on the outside been so far!
Really cool, actually! Since being out and about I tried to jump into a kitchen straight away, so I went and did some work experience with Guillaume at Bennelong, and then I went down to Melbourne with Darren Purchese in his little place, which has been great. I’ve absolutely loved it.

duckmoon, Sep 19, 4:51am
The contestants look awful.
Audra looks exhausted, mindy's face is exploding.

They must be using some much physical and emotional energy
