MIXED SPICE v ALLSPICE

For a fruit loaf. Is there any difference between them!

yes. Mixed spice is what it says, a mixture off several. Allspice is a spice on its own, also called Pimento

Yes, mixed spice is what would be used for a fruit loaf. Sometime back got them mixed up put in all spice by mistake, was not nice at all, very different taste.

Never knew after 42 of baking, that there was any difference, could be that I have only ever purchase mixed spice for the Christmas cake. I happen to have a bottle of Pimento, but have never used it. What would I use it for

Allspice or pimenta is incorrectly called pimento.

Pimento is a large, red, heart-shaped sweet pepper.
Pimento is also a type of peppercorm.
Pimento is also another word for paprika ..

It all depends where you are when you are saying it ...
