I was actually serious about the cheese - apple pie made with cheese pastry is particularly good and very popular in the UK where they use Lancashire cheese

I know this sounds kind of weird but I put a packet jelly into apple pie if the apples are a bit watery it firms the pie up and the pastry doesnt go soggy

Just what I did the other day!Made my pie galette style.One large circle of pastry (plenty bigger than the dish) into dish put in fruit & berries then fold extra pastry from circle to top of pie.

apple pie with pick your own wild blackberries, although I don't think there will be many to pick this year, as it has been too cold.A bonus though, as the mushrooms have been plentiful, wormless, beautiful and white and delicious.
