Make stuffing and pack on top of that, fold over the tinfoil so the stuffing dosnt get wet. It tastes just like hangi. You can tip off the juices half way through cooking. dont want stewed hangi

ALSO when your putting your veges in, in the morning pack them in as when you take the hock out before serving theres alot of space left over...

crockpot macaroni cheese This is a great recipe for the kids (big ones included!) I think it's a Simon/Alison Holst recipe and we make it a lot during winter. Put in the crockpot: 250g macaroni (about 2 and a half cups), 25g butter or margarine, 3 cups grated cheese, 3 tablespoons of flour, and quarter of a teaspoon of salt. Mix thoroughly, then pour in 3 cups of boiling water and stir gently. It goes kind of mushy looking but that's how it's meant to look. I usually also chuck in some chopped onion, tomato and a bit of ham or bacon but you don't have to (put in whatever you fancy). Cook on high for 2 to 3 hours. Stir about once an hour.

coke cola beef I have a recipe for Coke cola beef. I cook it in a slow cooker for about 8 hours on low. Just mix 1 can of coke with one can of tomato soup and add one sliced onion (I like red). Put beef (rolled or whole) into slow burner. Pour over coke mixture and that’s it. Take meat out when ready and leave to rest for about 20 mins (rap in foil). Mix a large tablespoon of Cornflour with a little water and pour into coke mixture and stir. Replace lid and let it thicken up. Wonderful gravy especially on mashed potatoes.

boozy beef - gravy beef, onions, carrots, bay leaf, 1 tin guinness, streaky bacon, bouquest garni. roll beef cubes in seasoned flour, and pop in crockpot. fry off onions, bacon and carrots in oil and add to crockpot. Add the herbs and all the guinness. Cook on low for as long as you can. Serve with mash and green veges- savoy cabbage is my favourite. You might have to take off the lid about 1 1/2 hours before to thicken the gravy - and put it on high at this point. Mmmmm - really wintery dish.
