Have read lots of recipes - havent tried it before so could some of you good people tell me how big or small the leekpotatoand onion should be chopped- have the ham bone in - should I precook the onion or leek?

cut leeks in half lenghtwise and wash well, cut across in 3mmm rings.chop potatoes 1cm cubes roughly. chuck all in the pot.add a bayleaf and 3 cloves
