You could make animals from store bought fondant and paint them with food colouring. Make cookies, even use them to cut out Fairy bread.
If you type animal into the search bar under Crafts...Cake Design, you will see lots of cake toppers, cupcake papers, cutters etc. Good luck with the party.

you can make swans using choux pastry.

Pipe eclair shapes for the body,
Pipe the number; two, use a small nozzle.
The number two needs to be as high as the eclair is long.
Split the eclair fill with cream and fruit or jelly, put the neck in , the top on and dust with icing sugar. Kids love them.
You will get the hang of shaping the neck.
You can flick up one end of the eclair for the tail, enjoy.

Not necessarily jungle but these are cool:
snails made by using a mini choc fish, oreo cookie and a bit oflicorice stick. You stand the oreo bic upright on the wee fish to form the snail shell (stick it on with a bit of icing) and use a tiny length of licorice to form the snails antenna.

Also strawberry mice and spiders.

Strawberry Mice
Ingredients:
Strawberries
Red and black licorice pieces
White chocolate buttons
To assemble :
Cut choc buttons in half.
Cut slots in strawberry in the ears position and press button pieces in.
Make holes for eyesand earsand tail and press shaped licorice pieces in.

Incy Wincy Spiders.
Ingredients:
Large prunes or dates
Coloured cake decorating caschous lollies.
Licorice strips.

To assemble:
Make 8 holes around the sides of the prune to
insert legs.
Cut the licorice strips into 8 lengths about 2 grooves of the strap wide. Insert these strips into the holes, and bend to make the legs fold in the middle.

Hedgehogs or porcupines.
You can do these with an array of ingredients.
A savoury one can be made with a lemon body. insert small cloves around the pointy end for the snout, larger cloves for eyes.
Body can then be covered in rows of cheese and pineapple tidbits.

A nice sweeter version can be done using a brownpear, cut the core leaving a short end for the nose and do the same with cloves around the snout, and for the eyes. Then arrange the little licorice hundreds and thousand lollies on toothpicks in rows until thebody of the pear is covered. Another choice of lollies that can be used are the coconut mushrooms, or the toasted type of coconut marshmallows, or the chocolate coconut marshmallows.
