Japanese food

Hi all
I don't want to start a thread getting into discussions about purchasing local products or about making things from scratch and not buying premade food etc.
All I want is to be aware of what I might be buying that has been grown/manufactured in Japan.
I don't think I buy any food products from therebut to be really honest I am not 100% sure.
What food products do we import into NZ from Japan?
Thanks very much

Reality is they don't export much food that isn't very specialised like Wasabi new reality is they will export even less in the imediate future as they have lost the use of much of thier arable land. They are very fastidious people you will never see thier contaminated produce in any stores there or here.

Thanks so much for that everyone - I didn't think there was much I bought - just the soy sauce by the looks of it.

There are a couple of Japanese Specialty shops in Auckland (unsure about the rest of NZ though).

The most common one in Auckland is just around the corner of Dominion Road from the big Asian store near Target Furniture.

Also some larger Countdown stores has dedicated sections to some various specialties like Japnanese, Indian, etc - one needs to ask shop assistant if not too sure where to look.

One has noted that the main Japanese Brand names are in most Supermarkets and Asian stores like "Kikkoman, Mitsukan, Mizkan etc...".

Fresh veges like Daikon and a very few others are starting to appear at some other stores mainly fruit and veges shops close to the main Asian populated areas.

Hopes this helps.

Cheers.
