Me too JB.. I really enjoyed it - watched it with my Daughter - chatting to her on the phone to Hamilton as we both watched.. thanks Vodafone for their Bestmates plan and long phone calls!

Well done to Nadia.. and it'll be great to see how they both continue with careers with food..

jbsouthland, May 15, 11:24am
...I thought she had great empathy all the way through tonight as well. She may get emotional but she sure could hold it together on the night ....lovely young woman who deserved to win.

charlieb2, May 15, 11:25am
lol juliewn... I have a hearing loss so dont 'do' the phone.. but mum and I were texting each other!! lol

Hi Julie
I thank Vodafone too. It's so good to just call whenever and chat about mother/daughter, friend stuff. I hope all is well with you. I don't get through the boards much anymore but think of all the lovely people here and will come on to look for ideas periodically. Erica

I really enjoyed watching last nights final. Up until last night I was expecting Jacks to win. I felt really happy for Nadia, she certainly was a gracious winner.I also felt gutted for Jacks, it just wasn't her night, When the desert tower crashed,it was like watching a masterchef contestants worst night mare.I would love to see the uncut version of the show.

88 out of 100 was an impressive score. I think that would beat most people. Also, I hear the final is filmed over two days?

Re the books - I can't say I'm even a bit interested in Nadia's concept but I'd definitely have bought Jax's book. The tv producers must have been thrilled with such a dramatic ending. Well dione Nadia - I think she rose to the occasion better than Jax. As soon as Jax 'froze' you could tell she wasn't going to win.

Had a wee giggle thinking how for example Stu would had done that tower and more so with Cameron - on what he would had done with that porker, hmmm, we will never know.

The ladies did exceptionally well though with the pork and beef wellingtons.

Nadia to me did the most logical thinking though although did feel for Jax, she had the more real cooking mind, nadia was the winner and well done.

Did admire them both both and stu did lack that finese when it was needed, cheers

Oh, agree with the comment of viewing the uncut video of the show, think it will be hilarious although did agree with one of the judges and did noticed how Jax was placing them onto the tower that it did look messy....

I think on the night Nadia deserved the win. However, I do think she should have been eliminated in Melbourne when she served uncooked fish.. Overall, I think Jax was the best cook in the show.

lizab, May 16, 4:43am
Jax started assembling her macaroon flower frenzy (or whatever stupid name it was) 5 or 10 mins before Nadia - how come it was so messy? It didn't look as though she even tried to copy the perfect one on display!! Nadia's was immaculately put together. I was gutted though, as I really wanted Jax to win - but, the best girl definitely won on the night.

spotswood, May 16, 4:48am
I enjoyed the show but already knew the winner when I went to pak n save sunday morning and there was this weeks new idea already on the shelves with Nadia's face splashed on the front cover !!A bit like hearing the rugby score before seeing the game!!

Lizab,,apparently it was all in the way Jax assembled it.She placed the macaroons on top of one another instead of placing them off centre. The dynamics of the incorrect positioning meant that once one fell there was nothing to hold them in place.Hope you understand what I've tried to say LOL.
Shame I wanted Jax to win as well, but hey the best girl on the night won.Good on her.

winnie231, May 16, 7:45am
Hope you're all comfy in front of your tellys!
My money's on Jax.

hezwez, May 16, 8:13am
Well don't switch to Channel 3 during the ads. Blasted promo for Woman's Own magazine gave the spoiler.

waswoods, May 16, 8:34am
Hmmmm . I think it may be Nadia :-(

esther-anne, May 16, 8:56am
I fear it will be Nadia. If she wins she'll be the first Masterchef to weep their way to the title.

She's far too too precious for my liking!

maynard9, May 16, 9:23am
Was racing thru the checkout today and just caught a glimpse of one of the magazines - I don't buy them so didn't recognize which - but what caught my attention was Jac's face and the caption something about 'being in love with a woman'..Didn't have time to look any further.I looked expecting it to say something about 'coming second or how she felt when her tower collapsed.

dec1066, May 16, 9:44am
Yes, well done Nadia. Can't help but feel sorry for Jax!

esther-anne, May 16, 10:10am
It's all in the eyes of the beholder I guess seniorbones.I thought Jax was just as gracious as Nadia all the way through and did go over and initiate a hug from time to time.

Suppose we are all a little biased one way or another in our opinions!

seniorbones, May 16, 10:21am
I was surprised how long ago the final was filmed, 6 months and it sounded like even their families (apart from the ones who came in at the end) didnt even know who had won, Jax said she watched it with her family and friends and they thought that she had won it. I dont think I could have kept it secret for so long I would want all the prizes straight away!!

floralsun, May 16, 10:23am
I saw an advert last night looking for contestants for the next series - I'm looking forward to it already - just love the show.

charlieb2, May 16, 10:48am
For me. as soon as Simon started making a big deal over how long Nadia was taking with the 'icing' on the poly frame, I knew it was going to be Jax that went homefor sure. You could just see where it was going.

Nadia was gracious tonight and in fact I thought both the girls seem to overcome their natural rivalry and support each other.

Still think it comes down to who's got the best 'cook book' idea and in todays climate. *must be healthy, eat well* Nadia had the trump card
