Courtesay - The Vegetarian Adventure Cook Book.

3/4 cup Marg or butter, 1½ cups brown sugar, 1½ tsp vanilla, 3 eggs, ½ C plain flour, ¼ cup Wholemeal flour, ½ C cocoa, ½tsp baking powder, ½ tsp salt¼ C chopped nuts or raisins or combination of both.

Pre heat oven to 180 degees C

Melt the marg/butter and using wooden spoon, blend it with the sugar and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Add the eggs and beat well. Combine the dry ingredients and nuts/raisins and gradually stir into the egg mixture until well blended.

Bake at 180 for 30-40 mins or until the brownie begins to pull away from the sides of the pan. Cool and cut into squares. Can scatter with icing sugar or ice with chocolate icing before cutting up.
