Saw the Delking prawn man yesterday.Oh how I wish his business had survived...

Got a bag of frozen prawns through a contact at an RSA where the prawns are always tasty."Shore Mariner" - produced/packed by an Aussie company but will investigate as to the origin of the prawns when I remember...I just hope they are not the grot ones.

Shore mariner mainly packs warm water prawns from China - Vanmei and Tiger. Both are intensively farmed in poly ponds.

Cow!!!! Just got back from Oz 10 days ago and the one thing I did have a good feed of was though beautiful king praws. Had them fresh twice, once on a pizza at a lovely mama and papa type neighbourhood pizza place (the sauce was to die for) and then last Sunday at The Hog's Breath cafe. Nom nom nom as my kids say.

LOL, they are really lovely here at the moment. Have had the tiger prawns and also had a beautiful ocean prawn risotto at Blue Moon Grill Trinity Beach. Going again tonight, not sure what to have....maybe prawns again LOL. DH had the kangaroo the other night which i tried and it is really delicious, very like venison and something I would recommend.
