Wok help for beginner!

Hi everyone, we have started using our wok and ended up with food bits stuck to wok, obviously we don't want to wash it with detergent so have tried to scrub and rinse, any suggestions, and also any insight into why this might have happened, I used peanut oil, heated wok on medium so not too fast, was hot when started, did I perhaps not leave the chicken in long enough before beginning to stirfry?

Did you season the wok before use (oil thoroughly and heat it).Other people might explain it better.
